Update

Finally this afternoon Angie received a call back from the doctor explaining outlook from Wednesday meeting. The consensus is to stop chemo, give time to recover from chemo, then surgery. Will continue to see oncologist on Tuesday to monitor blood work.  Have an appointment with the surgeon on Monday to discuss next steps.

Crossroads

Just a quick update to share today the oncologist read Angie's ultrasound results and the tumor size in length and width was almost exactly the same. The depth  however seemed a bit larger but not significant. She is still experiencing an increasing in neuropathy or numbness in fingers and toes. This could worsen after each treatment and possibly become permanent. Here is the plan...Today skipped chemo, YAY!  Tomorrow the oncologist will present the findings and review her case again with the tumor board to consult on next steps. Please pray for this important crossroads. This will determine if she will continue a regimen of chemo or stop treatment and work towards surgery options.  Thank you in advance for your prayers! We will update you tomorrow or Thursday when we hear an update. “Job answered GOD: “I’m convinced: You can do anything and everything. Nothing and no one can upset your plans.” ‭‭Job‬ ‭42:1-2 MSG

Taxol, Round 3

Angie received her 3rd dose of Taxol today. She reports a good week last week and gained some strength back. She has started experiencing neuropathy in her toes. During her chemo she tried some ice therapy on her fingers and toes to see if that might help the chemo from spreading during infusion. The doctor is keeping a close on eye on it and trying a new prescription to see if it improves. She also is waiting to get scheduled for a scan later this week or next week to check on how the tumor is responding to the treatments. She is still showing anemia in her blood work but will continue to eat iron rich foods and hope it doesn’t worsen.  Praise: -thankful for feeling better this past week -thankful for the cards, meals, sweet comments, & prayers  Prayer Needs: -please pray BIG time for a good report from the scan.  -prayer she’s able to continue with treatment and side effects improve. -pray for wisdom and correct guidance from her oncologist going forward with the right paths. -pr

Taxol, Round 2

Today Angie is receiving round 2 of the Taxol chemo. She and her doctor agreed to take one week off last week from the chemo weekly regimen. She was feeling really tired and not gaining back strength like expected. Today she is currently receiving the 2nd dose of the Taxol chemo. Her bloodwork was mostly positive but does show some anemia and low iron levels. For now she is going to increase iron rich foods to see if that helps. The chemo prevents correct absorption and taking iron supplements can further complicate side effects she already experiences.   She enjoyed some better days the past 3-4 days without any fevers and with a little more strength than she had previously. We are still waiting for one more chemo round before the doctor will order a scan to see how the tumor is responding. The chemo is also being used to help discourage the spread of cancer to other organs or places in her body. The scan will give some insight if the tumor has stopped growing or shrunk at all. If the

Taxol, Round 1

Tuesday, Angie received her first dose of the Taxol chemotherapy. The original plan is weekly doses for 12 weeks. But the oncologist is saying it may be more like 8 or less depending on how she feels through it and the side effects. The routine of chemo gets old quickly. While this type of chemo is not as intense as the A/C regime it’s still chemo. Her body has been fighting to keep recovering and resting but it takes a toll. The Taxol chemo is weekly so it gives her body less time to recover and less good days. Tuesday the infusion was also much longer than it had been. We were at the facility at 7a and Jim brought her home after 1p. Wednesday was a pretty good day but Thursday and Friday have been hard days -feeling tired and occasional low grade fever.  Angie has been fighting with amazing strength and outlook. She is such a warrior!  Praise: -We are grateful for getting through this next leg of the journey.  -A/C Chemo is done! -1 Taxol dose done! Prayer Request: -Please pray for p
